Summary:
An introduction and overview of The ASAM Criteria for clinicians focused on understanding the components of The ASAM Criteria, overview of guiding principles of The ASAM Criteria, and review of major changes in the 4th edition. The presentation will focus on understanding the dimensions and subdimensions of The ASAN Criteria as well as understanding how to use The ASAM Criteria to guide decisions on support for individuals through the continuum of care. Treatment planning utilizing these guidelines will also be discussed.

Registration fees collected from this training will benefit Tailwinds Ranch Wellness Center to support
Equine Therapy services for Veterans, Military, and First Responders.
We will also facilitate a collection of clothing, blankets, towels, and wash clothes at this event.
These donations will benefit homeless veterans and foster care children through the Mercy Drops Dream Center. Tailwinds Ranch (501c3) helps military, veterans, and healthcare providers find a sense of purpose, a sense of hope, reconnect in meaningful relationships, and learn to use coping skills that allow them to take back their lives.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain familiarity with the 6 Dimensions and sub-dimensions that guide multi-dimensional assessment.
- Become comfortable utilizing The ASAM Criteria to drive the development of individualized treatment planning.
- Support the application of The ASAM Criteria in the context of the continuum of care to recognize how to reduce both under-utilization and overutilization of care.
